EMBROIDERIES OF INDIA / KASUTI WORK / INTRODUCTION

Kasuti is a traditional form of embroidery practised on cotton fabrics mostly by the Lambani women in Karnataka, India, more so in its Dharwad district. It is a unique art from historical times supposed to be a necessary craft to be learnt by women courtiers in the Royal State of Mysore in the 17th century.
